About
Tom Matts, PGA Professional.
Head Professional at Oakridge Golf Club and the person behind TGM Golf — coaching, custom fitting and the pro shop.
From assistant to Head Professional.
I started at Oakridge Golf Club as an assistant around seven years ago. I learned the trade from the ground up — in the shop, on the range and on the lesson tee — while working through my PGA training.
Today I'm a fully qualified PGA Professional and the Head Professional at Oakridge, and TGM Golf is how I bring everything together: coaching in a purpose-built simulator studio, specialist Srixon custom fitting, and a well-stocked pro shop for the members and visitors who play here.
Most of the golfers I work with simply want to enjoy the game more. My job is to explain clearly what's going on in your swing, give you a plan you can actually practise, and make sure your equipment is helping rather than holding you back.

How I work
Clear, honest coaching — backed by data.
Listen first
Every lesson starts with what you want from your golf — not a generic checklist.
Measure it
GC3 launch data and slow-motion video show what's really happening.
Keep it simple
One or two clear priorities you can take straight to the range.
Get the right kit
If your equipment is costing you shots, a proper fitting puts that right.
